The windows of the X-Spat Controller software for Mac OS X

The X-Spat Controller for Mac OS X provides various complementary screens to visualize a set up: the main window, which remains always visible, with parameters that can be modified in real time; the “Patch Bay” window for the card's internal connections; “Default Preset” for set ups to be kept after Rosetta 800 has been switched off, and for the selection of a custom preset by the user; “Stereo Position Manager” to manage stereo sources.
The origin of the axes XYZ is positioned at default at the absolute center of the virtual cube containing your listeners. Keep this convention in mind when you consider the dimensions of the space to be spatialized.

In the main window you can manage the X-Spat parameters that can be modified in real time, independently for each audio channel. Select the channel for which you want to set the input and output parameters using the “Channel” popup menu. Modify the parameters as you like. Repeat the operation for all the channels and save your set up file on the hard disk.
At any time, you can select one of the three “Send” buttons to send the MIDI Control Change messages needed by X-Spat. You have three available “Send” buttons, one for each type of set-up to be sent, because, if necessary, you may also record some set-ups directly during the working session of your MIDI sequencer, using the IAC Bus driver of Mac OS X's Core Audio/MIDI.
Now let's analyze the different available parameters and their graphic representation.
