| The "Global Settings" area The parameters included in this part of the main window are independent from the number of channels selected in the 'MIDI Channel Selection' area because they control the global set-ups of the X-Spat system. Proceeding from top to bottom, we find the following sliders: 'Rosetta Out Master': regulates the global volume of the spatialized channels exiting Rosetta800/96. 'Doppler Tracking': sets the speed of detection of the audio sources' movement, in order to apply the Doppler effect. 'Room Side m.': sets the measurement in meters of the side, which, in turn, determines the dimensions of the virtual cube inside which the three dimensional Spatialisation takes place. If you are working in surround (two-dimensional) it sets the dimension of the virtual square's side. 'Number of Spatializer Outs': sets the number of channels exiting the Spatializer. This number must necessarily match exactly the number of speakers used to reproduce Spatialisation or surround, otherwise the effect will not be reproduced correctly. In this area you can also find the pop-up menu to assign the output MIDI port through which X-Spat Controller will send messages of the MIDI Control Change type. Such messages can be sent directly to X-Spat or to a MIDI sequencer that will take care of recording the data and sending them to X-Spat at the same time. |
